How is it December already? I can't believe I'll be heading back to Louisiana in a few days for another Southern Christmas! Another year ending and a new beginning. With that new beginning, it's nice to take a sec and look back on the year. How have I grown? What has changed? Did I cross off a few of those bucket list items?!? And then...how do I tackle the next one?
I am sharing one of my E-Decor projects today because my client's living room was in need of some tackling. After just having her second child, she really wanted to start this new year off feeling at home in her house. My job: To create a space she could be proud of when people visit her growing family. Her style: Cozy with a Mid-Century flair.
The house actually has great bones! High ceilings with a wood beam detailing. The dining area and kitchen were already done in accents of a fun and vibrant red so I built the color palette from there. A feature wall painted in robin's egg blue. Pillows and rugs in red, blues and yellows. Grounded with modern neutrals.
Mixing metal finishes in the furniture pieces and the light fixtures gives the space an eclectic vibe. Antique bronze. Brass. Polished chrome.
Next, tackling the layout. Currently the sofa was blocking the bay window, missing out on an opportunity to add more seating in the room for all those visitors.
My favorite piece in the room is this gorgeous light fixture. Just enough funk to be the wow factor.
